My name is Eric Chavez, and I am honored to be your new Director of Golf. I was born and raised in Las Cruces and I'm excited to be back after being away for about 16 years. I have a strong background in golf - my grandma introduced me to the game when I was 5 years old, and when I was around 10 years old, my grandpa took over and helped me improve. I played High School Golf for Mayfield and then received a Golf Scholarship to play at Western New Mexico University. While in college, I also worked at the golf course in Silver City. After graduating, I became the Assistant Golf Professional and joined the PGA apprenticeship program. I successfully completed the program and received my PGA Class A Card/Certificate. Subsequently, I became the General Manager and managed golf courses in a few other places. I am thrilled to be part of the team here at PHCC and want to express my gratitude to the Barranger’s and the PHCC Membership for this opportunity.
